Special Projects The largest project to date of the HHS, is the Tweed's Historical Complex in Hockessin, Delaware. The complex presently includes the historic Tweed's Tavern, an 18th Certury, Swedish-design, log structure that is currently being enlarged to include the second, or early 19th Century kitchen. Engineering and architectual plans are going forward today for a nearby Exhibit Hall or Museum and garden. Long-range plans call for the Complex to include a barn and relocation/restoration of Harmony School, one of the last one-room schoolhouses operated in the State of Delaware. In the meantime, the HHS has an active voice in the preservation of historic structures/sites in Millcreek Hundred, New Castle County, Delaware. |
