The Hockessen Historical Society, Inc. was formed in September 1999. Its charter is to preserve and protect historic sites and buildings relative, but not limited to, the Hockessin area in Delaware. Educational and research programs relative to Delaware's unique cultural heritage and historic landmarks will be developed and funding provided through many varied sources.
The Hockessin Historical Society is a 501-c3 non-profit organization qualified to receive tax deductible gifts and donations, and to engage in any other lawful act or activity for which corporations may be organized under the General Corporation Law of Delaware.
Joseph Lake serves as president, Edward Hoffmeister as vice president, Sandra Lee Pugh as secretary, and Tracy Stegmeier as treasurer.
Serving on the Board of Directors are Joseph Lake; Susan Siemionko; Kenneth Murphy of the Greater Hockessin Area Development Association; Senator Liane Sorenson; Brian Woodcock, former HHS vice resident; and Louis Amabili of the Hockessin Fire Company. Former Vice President Joseph Long will be memorialized at the park.
